The MIZU Story



It all began in San Jose, California, the largest city in the fast paced tech savvy land known as Silicon Valley. There were already hundreds of restaurants offering Asian fusion dishes all with their own unique twist. It was for this reason that we needed to offer something to differentiate us from this sea of restaurants. With this in mind, the name and mission of Mizu Sushi Bar & Grill were born.

To prepare an inspired fusion of Japanese and Korean flavors using only the highest quality fresh ingredients served in an elegant and comfortable setting. In search of a way to represent this through the name of the restaurant, Mizu was chosen. Mizu, meaning water, a vital life source and key element of Feng Shui, the ancient art of balancing environmental energies to improve health and good fortune.

Mizu opened in 2009 and quickly became one of the most popular Asian fusion restaurants in San Jose. Mizu established a reputation that was a direct reflection of our mission in which our master chefs and attentive servers built from day one. Since inception, our reviews spread like wildfire through popular review sites. We have consistently received rave reviews making us one of the highest rated restaurants in the Bay Area. The experience offered at Mizu has created loyalty among our guests, some of which have been dining at Mizu regularly 3-4 times per week since the day we opened.
